VHDL stands for VHSIC Hardware Description Language.
VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuits) was a program
of the U.S. Department of Defense in the early 80’s.
After that, it was adopted as a standard description tool
by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers)
and, for this reason, we use their libraries.
